Video Featuring Dog: MARIGOLD
Marigold first became a DCAWS dog in 2006. She was adopted to a college student in St. Louis. In the summer of 2015 we received word that Marigold was traced through her AVID chip to us and was at a high-kill facility in El Paso Texas. Their multiple attempts to reach the owner failed, as did ours, although there was valid information that she was or had been in El Paso. A very dedicated DCAWS volunteer made the trip to Texas to rescue Marigold and get her back home. This adventure to save Marigold was also assisted by financial and moral of support of several DCAWS volunteers plus Great Dane rescue of El Paso who got Marigold from the pound because her death there was due and kept her until Julia got there…and housed and fed them both for the night.Marigold still has lots of punk and energy, pretty much took this all in stride. She is looking for forever home. She is loving and cooperative and gets along with other mellow dogs; she doesn’t care for the alpha type dog. Her case is marked special needs only because of her age. She is in good condition and has no medical issues.
From Volunteer Julia B (Marigold’s past foster Mom):
Marigold needs to be an only dog or with a submissive dog, and no children. She would make a fine couch potatoe companion and guard dog for her person. She needs love and has a lot of love and loyality to give.
