Video Featuring Dog: Trixie
This past adoption event was “special” for one particular shelter dog named Trixie. Trixie has been at our shelter for 3 years. We suspect a past history of human abuse on this girl. At our shelter it takes time for abused dogs to regain trust, in both shelter staff people and the general public. While at the shelter this period of “re-adjustment” can be a tire some job. These types of dogs can be labeled “high risk dogs” and may never see a STL adoption event. But this past adoption event was Trixie’s first STL Petsmart adoption event. Perhaps now the label of “high risk dog” can be removed from Trixie and she will be a regular visitor to STL Petsmart adoption events so she too can find her forever home as many others from our group have succeeded. She obviously enjoyed the day, had a blast, behaved on the ride there and back and had a big grin and wagging tail all day long. And, as you can see, she is very beautiful.
